Build a big business on a budget
You don’t need to spend a lot of money that if you are like most people you most likely don’t have to market your business.
Article marketing is a tried and tested method of not only building your business, but also of building your credibility in the business community and among your prospects.
This is my primary marketing method.
I have found it makes good business sense to write article because the only cost to me or my business is time and it has delivered the majority of my mailing list. I was not always able to attend networking meetings because of university and other commitments but I still found that my business grew just as fast and as strong as my peers in the similar businesses. Even now I don’t always get the opportunity to attend these meetings for one reason or the other but I still find that my business is going from strength to strength regardless of my lack of time on the networking meeting circuit.
It is my opinion that as a marketing vehicle article writing stands head and shoulders above the rest in terms of value for money and the recognition it gives your business to your potential client or customers.
It goes without saying writing and submitting your work to online sites gives you free marketing opportunities,
it is also very important to note that it increases your credibility in the eyes of potential customers.
People are more inclined to listen to what an expert has to say so by appearing on articles makes you appear to know what you are doing and give you more clout and authority to your customers. No paid advertisement can match that! This makes it a powerful marketing tool.
They are three main things to consider when writing an article
a) What should I write?
-
Articles
-
Reports
-
Letters to editors
-
Tips (Ways to—, top ten —)
The list goes on just use your imagination you can hardly go wrong with this method of marketing.
b) Topics to write about
The sky is the limit on topics let your imagination run wild you can’t go wrong! Be guided by the questions you wish to address and before you know it an presentable piece of work appears.
Here are a few guide lines
# Put yourself in the client’s shoes and ask yourself “what information would you find useful” and chances are some potential customers would feel the same.
# Remember to promote your own interests, by this I mean find a way of making your writing relevant to your business
# Draw inspiration from your own experiences (what challenges you faced and how you over came them) chances are they are some potential clients in similar situations and would benefit from what you write.
c) What if I can’t write?
A simple structure I use solves that problem.
